Hello, David! >> 3. If I need to interrupt a ddrescue run, is it ok to CTRL/C it, then start running it again later, assuming there is actually a mapfile somewhere?I think the mapfile is only in the memory of the ddrescue process, so try dumping it from /procMaybe, Antonio, the author, can help more accurately.OS X does not seem to have a /proc. Might have another name.
There were alternative methods to do that same thing, but they were removed from OSX when Apple switched to Intel. However, there is a method to reenable /dev/mem and /dev/kmem, but it requires a reboot to become active. That ofc will lose all my mapfile data :-(
I wonder if putting it to sleep would help, as that saves a copy of memory for the restore?
