Thanks Paul.Now that ddrescue uses HDIO_GET_IDENTITY, it should be possible to implement the functionality of 'waitfordevice' in ddrescue (even if only for linux).
Sorry for being so slow. 'waitfordevice' is in my todo list since more than a year ago.
