Hi there

I just want to tell you some problem I got that I think that maybe it is a bug.

I was trying to set up a cvs repository on Mac OS X but I could not create an account anonymous with NO PASSWORD using in the CVSROOT/passwd file:

anonymous:

neither

anonymous::system_user

The only way I make it worked was generating a password using htpasswd command to create a password and then put that string as the password in the CVSROOT/passwd. Even for the empty string I needed to create an empty string password using the same command. The coded string returned by htpasswd for an empty string was "tAnmph2mn1JO." therefore my CVSROOT/file now looks like:

anonymous:tAnmph2mn1JO.:cvs

An now I can connect using the anonymous user without a password.

Hopefully this can help to correct the error in case there is one if not at least change the documentation.

See ya

this is the version I am using
