The current lock feature usable by admins, cvs admin -l and cvs admin -u, seems to not be available to end users - which makes sense when using CVS for product development. We are using CVS not only for application development, but as well for documents and this require to have people being able to lock their documents. The CVS watch and edit commands may be a better solution: <http://www.cvshome.org/docs/manual/cvs-1.11.7/cvs_10.html#SEC89>
We looked at it in the begining, but watch/edit was not the simpler technique to deploy. This patch has been used for the last 5 months and seems to make happy their users. -- Eric Dumas (Eric.Dumas@tumbleweed.com) @Sofia Director, Development Center, Bulgaria Tel: (Sofia) +359 889.216.732 (US) +1 650.216.2030
