Dear Sirs,
I have installed cvs-1.11.1p1 on a LINUX-Computer
(Mandrake)
logged in as root. As described in the file INSTALL
the
target was: /usr/local/bin/cvs.
Next I have created the directory:
mkdir /src
mkdir /src/master
Then I have created the
environmentvariable:
CVSROOT=/src/master
and exported it with:
export CVSROOT
Next I have inited a new archiv with
/usr/local/bin/cvs init
I do not have an existing archive which can be
imported.
I want to create a totaly new archiv.
In the dirctory /temp/temp I have some Datafiles
test1.dat and test2.dat
which shall be put under
versioncontrol.
I copied the files test1.dat and test2.dat to
/src/master
and entered:
/usr/local/bin/cvs add -kb
test1.dat
As result I got the message : "panic administrative
files are missing"
How do I get the administrative files?
Which steps have to be done for checking in the
above mentioned files?
best regards
Christoph Reinermann
