Users do strange things, all the time.  part of my arguement was that they 
are going to learn the -b behaviour and use it regardless.  And then
your patch doesn't stop them anymore.

There's no need/reason for this attitude.  I'm trying help come up with what's
best for cvs.  If what I am doing isn't helping, or my arguement
doesn't make sense please inform me so I can fix it.
