bug#25388: Bug in ls, kills existing scripts reading "ls" -1 as input

        That's not what I'm used to:

i.e. they look the same either way -- even down to the same
colors (attaching tmpdir.txt which should display as above
but with color)... depends on your LS_COLOR settings...
