But ERN 108 in that URL refers to what happens with rename("a",
"b/."), which obviously should fail. It doesn't really address the
issue of what should happen with rename("a", "b/").
I agree that this entire area is murky, underspecified, and differs in
surprising ways on various systems. What a pain. (Somebody should
clean it up. :-)
