My kneejerk reaction is that this can currently be done only on
fancier OSes like Solaris. Maybe GNU/Hurd is fancy enough; I don't
know. As I understand it Debian GNU/Hurd isn't released yet, so this
is only peripherally a Debian issue.
That being said, it'd definitely be a nice feature to have, and if
someone implements it cleanly I'd like to see it included in GNU
nohup.
