BUG in chroot

Please be advised that chroot 5.2.1 reports the folling error:

Inconsistency detected by ld.so: rtld.c: 1192: dl_main: Assertion
`(void *) ph->p_vaddr == _rtld_local._dl_sysinfo_dso' failed!

I am runing kernel  2.6.5-1.358.8kstacks on athlon i686 GNU/Linux.
Fedora Core 2

I have reinstalled rpm -Uhv --force coreutils-5.2.1-7.i386.rpm and the
problem persist. I have even borrowed chroot from other OS: Devian
Sarge,
Mandrake 10, Red Hat 9 and the problem persists.

Please let me know how can I have a working chroot
