Oh! Thinko. I just noticed that I substituted '$' for '%' characters.
No. Snprintfv is a string formatting library that uses the normal conventions,
but is extensible in that you can add or replace handlers for certain
characters.
I was implicitly suggesting a "ls-special" handler for '{' that would not
actually
consume printf format arguments and instead pull data from global variables.
