I have dozens of faulty diskettes , so I can snail- mail some to you.
I will also apreciate if someone else on this list will try with some faulty
disks ( floppy or maybe hard ) , and tell us their experiences .
The exact details will vary from diskettes to diskettes , and will depend
on the chosen block size ,
however the general pattern will remain the same .

Sorry , this is not possible , since I am not a programmer.
But I am now almost sure something is wrong in GNU dd , because I ' ve tried
the dd that comes with FreeBSD .
It worked well . The hardware was the same . And I think there is not much
room for differences between various implementations of dd
