tolerated. Although the one-liner you demonstrated should work quite
nicely, it's a lot to type on a regular basis. I worry that having such
a long command introduces too much possibility for error. I don't want
to be the one who has to stand in court and testify that all of the
evidence was lost because I mistyped a single character.
Having an automatic command flag would make our lives (and hopefully the
lives of the people involved in our investigations) much easier.
Also, you asked what do we do if there are more than 1,000 files.
Usually we break image files into 2GB chunks so that they will fit onto
a FAT32 filesystem. 1,000 * 2GB = 2,000 GB = ~2TB. When this happens, we
follow Roy Schieder's advice from Jaws: "We're gonna need a bigger
boat!" :)
