As I said - I assumed to much... In 1.x.x releases all the docu was
included with the distrubuted tarball. As David explained, this is no
longer the case and I was not aware of the fact.

Nope - this has nothing to do with GCC and its sources. CommonC++
documentation is created from comments inside its sources. So the
documentation is actually contained in the sourcefiles.
