CommonC++ for Linux and Win32

Hi,

I have been looking for a standard API for threading and sockets and I
believe that I have found it in CommonC++. I installed it fine on Linux,
however it also mentions that

"Common C++ offers support and portable classes for threading and sockets
for both UNIX (Posix systems with "pthread" support) and the Windows "Win32"
API"

The readme files mentions very briefly something about GNU under Win32, but
I could not make that out further.

If I cannot install it under Win32 (I am using Visual Studio) is there any
way that I can manually add all the files I need to my own project? I have
tried this but have run into a lot of compiling issues.

I would like to end up with a standard API that I can use on both Linux and
Windows.

Brgds,

Thor List
