We've released a new version, which should have the fixes for the
SunOS 4.1.4 gotcha that you mentioned.  Please see:

(We are asymptotically approaching a Bison 2.0 release.  :-)

By the way, are you building with SunOS 4.1.4 cc, or with gcc?  I
would be interested to see any "make check" results with SunOS 4.1.4 cc.
Bison is still buildable with K&R C in theory, but as far as I know
nobody has tested this for quite some time.

If you run into a lot of problems with SunOS 4.1.4 cc, perhaps we
should just drop support for building Bison with a K&R C compiler.
(This is distinct from the generation of K&R C parsers, which Bison
will still support for a while anyway, since GCC itself needs that.)
But if it's just a few trivial problems then we might as well fix them.
