I think that that would be a bad idea.  I suspect that there are scripts
out there that currently depend upon nm displaying 'i' for both kinds of
ifunc symbol, and if we change the default behaviour we will break them.
(This has happened before with other parts of the output from nm and
readelf).

The idea of the configure time option is that the change can be made
permanent, as long as the toolchain builder is happy to do so.  This
allows distribution maintainers to decide for themselves whic type og
behaviour they want.
