That's most likely because gld testing assumes a gcc configured to use
gld without an explicit --with-ld.  Otherwise the hardcoded linker is
used instead of the newly built one.

When I run make check in gas in a binutils tree as of 20200322, I get
the same 5 failures.  Won't bother with ld testing at the moment.
