hi,
just thought i would let you know that i cannot get bash to compile
"out of the box" on irix 5.3 with the SGI IDO installed.
i cannot try gcc at this point as that doesn't compile on irix 5.3
either.
the error i get is:
***********************************************************
* *
* GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(3)-release (mips-sgi-irix5.3)
* *
***********************************************************
make[1]: Entering directory `/server/source/build/bash-2.05b/lib/malloc'
cc -I. -I../.. -I../.. -I../../include -I../../lib -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSHELL -g
-DRCHECK -Dbotch=programming_error -c malloc.c
cfe: Error: malloc.c, line 904: Syntax Error
}
^
make[1]: *** [malloc.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/server/source/build/bash-2.05b/lib/malloc'
make: *** [lib/malloc/libmalloc.a] Error 1
i can make an account available on the box if anyone wants to look at
this (it is a semipublic opensource porting/testing server..)
regards,
-jason
