I tend to agree, for these cases.

AIUI, the subsubheadings do not cause entries in the contents of the PDF
file. I'm not sure I think that's better, though. Are there other
differences I overlooked?

I can go through them; do you rather propose to split into several
nodes, or just use less headings?
