Ahem :) The trace I sent is the output of the txinfo3 test case
of Automake's test suite.  

% sed -n '/EOF/,/EOF/ p' tests/txinfo3.test

Yvon, that's a question for you.  I think the log file is in
/home/yvon/a-installer/automake-1.8.4/tests/testSubDir/txinfo3-1.0/_build/txinfo3.log
after the failure.
