I hauled
automake-1.6.3
over to a Mac running
Mac OSX 10.1.5
I ran configure without errors.
I ran make without errors.
I did
make install
which also completed without errors.
*HOWEVER*, the installation was unusable because none of the
directorys had world read. (The files all had proper
proper permissions, it was just the directories that didn't.)
The directories DID, however, reflect the restrictions of
my umask.
I've not checked it out with any care, but maybe someone
forgot to set the directory permissions?
It appears to be repeatable with a umask of 077.
