I have installed:
m4 1.4
automake 1.5
autoconf 2.52

Now i am trying to automake work but i have some problems.

on vegastrike CVS i get the attached errors (err.automake)
it produces a configure script but when i run it it looks for some not needed 
things like boostpython. I have contacted the maintainer of vegastrike and he 
says it works on his pc so this should be a misconfiguration of mine. Note 
that the boostpython is NOT required by vegastrike (at least this is what 
vega maintainer says) anyway i have installed them with no result. (you also 
find the configure output attached as err.configure)

Next, the make command seems to rerun the configure script (strange to me) 
and then gives an error (see err.make attached).

Note that those .Po files are not present in the files of vegastrike (also 
the maintainer confirmed this to me).

Is this a configuration problem on my system?
I compiled m4 with:
./configure --prefix=/usr
make
make install
Then autoconf with:
./configure --prefix=/usr
make 
make install
And last autiomake:
./configure --pefix=/usr
make
make install.
All this gave no warnings and no errors.
