The sample C++ program that groff-1.19/configure creates to test for a valid
C++ compiler sets the
umask to 077 and does not set it back to it's previous value. This causes the
directories created
for the groff devices (i.e. /usr/share/groff) to have their permissions set to
u=rwx,g=,o=. As
you must be root to install it this translates to regular users not having
access to these
directories. Please see the patch below. It retains the umask value they had
previously which
may not work for those setting it to nonstandard values :- )
