In my customisation I have: '(TeX-output-view-style [...] but AUCTeX stopped using texdoc when I upgraded from 11.85 11.86.Read the CHANGES file.
Found it! But when I try to customise TeX-view-program-selection I get a menu to select from without texdoc...
texdoc is useless for viewing in conjunction with AUCTeX because AUCTeXneeds to know which options it can pass to a viewer for stuff like forward and inverse search.
Why should I want to waste my time with searching? I'm not looking for a searcher or inverted searcher (which surely won't be a re-searcher), a viewer is OK for me. (And the texdoc viewer can search! -s is the option, of course. Until TeX Live 2009. Of Course...)
