I know I have an older version of AucTeX, which comes as part of
xemacs-sumo in the cygwin distribution. But I was comparing the
handling of use-hard-newlines in the functions in fill.el and the
analogous ones in latex.el (even in the newest package 11.85):
The effect that I wished to see is that when I use LaTeX mode and set
use-hard-lines, the hard lines would be kept between lines that belong
to the same paragraph. This effect exists when I edit a txt file in
the Text mode but not in LaTeX mode.
Thanks.
