I am having the same problem on Ubuntu 6.06 with TeXLive2007
installation (upgraded from texlive2005).

Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the correct way of
configuring "-file-line-error"?

Looking at texmf.cnf (located at
/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf) I see this:

,----[ Line 459-460 ]
| % Control file:line:error style messages.
| file_line_error_style = f
`----

Should this line be changed manually or using texconfig-sys?

What should the line look like after modification?

On a similar note: Should one recompile AUCTeX after changing my tex
installation (in this case upgrading from texlive2005 to texlive2007)?

Cheers,

Patrick
