By upgrading to the current version of AUCTeX which happens to be
11.55. This bug was fixed a long time ago.

Ouch! Your current installation seems to be pretty broken. It seems
that you omitted doing `make install' when you carried out the
installation. Please follow the installation instructions carefully
in case you are going to install AUCTeX 11.55.

You might want to enable parsing as described on the first page of
AUCTeX's manual or in the "Quick Start" section.
