It's not like I want to change anything, but wouldn't it be great to be 
able to write it simply as something like {⍵,⎕FIO[6] fd}⍣≡⍬ ?
Disregarding errors, this would be possible if ⎕FIO[6] returned empty 
vector when result is empty instead of a zero, but the major problem is 
not in FIO but in that underlying fread doesn't distinguish between EOF 
and errors in the first place.
