thanks. As of SVN 899 you can now say, for example,

./configure CXX_WERROR=no

Your patch was also patching generated files created by autoconf/configure which,
I believe, only works if the same configuration is being patched..

I ran autoreconf on my machine but it produces more diffs, which I don't
want to attach. I believe it is better to you to run it on your machine
and submit to svn instead of me providing them as a patch.
