I have found the root cause of your problem. It was non-ASCII characters (é) in the filename


I have fixed this in SVN 130. There might be more such cases; pleas keep reporting them.

I have made the order of constructors more explicit and I have
added some more information printed when this happens, see SVN 122.
Hi, I am not a great expert with SVN. I did:

      svn co svn://svn.savannah.gnu.org/apl/trunk

was it the right thing to do? Then I compiled and I have an UTF8 error/crash at 
startup again (see attached).
