Follow-up Comment #2, sr #106781 (project bibledit):
I'm building Bibledit for Windows these days using the Debian MinGW
cross-compiler. Bibledit on Windows does not use or require Cygwin to compile
or function. Bibledit on Windows does not require X11 either, thanks to Gtk+
Win32.
I imagine that you could use the Fedora and OpenSUSE MinGW cross-build setups
as well. Even MSYS, if you're willing to suffer the speed issues.
Windows Installer XML (WiX) is an open-source (MS-Pl) XML compiler to MSI
available on SourceForge. http://wix.sf.net . This will at least enable MSI
creation under MSYS or Cygwin.
For cross-compilation, WiX is a .NET application that can run under Mono, so
it 'should' be straight-forward. However, WiX seems to use some Windows APIs
not in Mono, so you need Wine to exercise WiX correctly. There is a Wine bug
that shows success doing this:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11414#c0
Is the debian/ directory for the various DEB distros under version control
somewhere? If we are not to include it in the regular Bibledit tree, we should
probably link to it.
