Sorry that I suggested to rewrite

mytst:
        @echo \
        '(foo  \
            (bar baz))'

into

mytst:
        @echo \
        '(foo ' \
        '   (bar baz))'

Just put the apostrophes differently.

I'll be quiet next time.
