Is there some particular reason why one needs darcs for the Windows 
build? Doesn't one have to get axiom--windows--1 from the tla archive?

There is a tla archive axiom--windows--1 AND a darcs archive 
axiom--windows--1? Unfortunately it is nowhere written that they are in 
sync. The darcs archive doesn't even appear on

so it is non-existing... ;-) ... only for people who want to run MathAction

We simply have two many source archives and potential contributors have 
to ask at the axiom-developer mailing list which one contains the 
blessed sources.
