The key words are "elementary function". Some integration is done by
the Risch Algorithm. Essentially the Risch Algorithm can integrate
any function which results in something like
f(x) + log
exp(x)/x^2 cannot be integrated into this form. Axiom does some
integration by pattern matching and it appears that the pattern
matcher does not know exp(x)/x^2
