Which part should I specify?looking at the guts of the avrisp2 i can see a mega128 on board, though doing
# avrdude -c avrispv2 -p m128 -P usb -tuF I get avrdude: stk500v2_command(): command failed avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1 avrdude: AVR device initialized and ready to accept instructions Reading | ################################################## | 100% 0.01s avrdude: Device signature = 0xffffff avrdude: Yikes! As Naveen Goswamy wrote:avrdude: stk500v2_command(): command failed avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1I'm assuming this error is mine, when trying to connect the chip to the device via breadboard.Slow down the AVRISP. Make your first connection attempt with "-tuF", so you can talk to just the AVRISP in terminal mode. Adjust the SCK frequency to 100 kHz (10 µs SCK period) using the command "sck 10". Try again then. If it still fails, it might be the breadboard wiring, or a poor Vcc bypass. -- cheers, J"org .-.-. --... ...-- -.. .
