Hi,
I've just committed support to build rpm binaries. The easiest way to do
that is (once you have the dist tarball):
rpmbuild -ta avrdude-3.1.0cvs.tar.gz
Pretty painless. ;-)
When there is an official release, I'll roll binary and source rpms which
can be put on the website for download.
