I find it kind of curious that people have just run into this now.

Checking back in e-mail, I can see that I ran into this issue back in Sept 
2002, which is when I needed to start defineing _SFR_ASM_COMPAT 1 to get 
some old programs using inp/outp to compile. That was the point I started 
migrating all my old program to the new format, which granted isn't a large 
number.
