You can use the ISP, JTAG, and HV Parallel interfaces of the AVR Dragon with the ATmega164P/324P/644P parts, and yes, this is documented in the latest releases of AVR Studio.
Is it indeed the case that the only documentation for the AVR Dragon is inside AVR Studio? No wonder I couldn't find it. Is the implication that nobody working on unix systems uses the Dragon?
