Hi gang,
I want to use an FTDI chip a little bit more deeper than an ordinary serial
prot. The HW is fixed as an FT245BM (parallel IF). That chip normally has an
Send Immeditatily pin, but that's tied high and no chance to change hardwar. So
I use libftdi and libusb not to wait 16ms for a small buffer to be tranferred.
Technically no problem but... Additionslly to the fix pin the Product / Vendor
Ids were changed from 0403/default to 0403/special (currently don't know the
values).
Myproblems:
1. Linux (SuSE 9.3) sets the access rights of the USB Controll port to root
only. Manually I can change but how to tell that udev / hotplug system? Jörg
sent me a patch for the udev rules file but the Systax from old (9.3) to new
(10.x) changed and after translation that script did not trgger at all :-(.
2. usblib-WIN32
I've compiled in cygwin my Linux programm and the libftdi without problems. But
I can't run it (device not found). Do I have to have a kind of generic USB
driver? What is this filter issue and who dropped the description of the
libusb(-win32) project? RTFM is no solution because there is no FM :-).
Cheers
Knut
