Hi Matt,I do have some old code I used with an MCP2510 and the ATmega103 that I can email you if you are still having problems. I used it successfully in a manufacturing automation product.
I have to say, though, that the code is probably 3 or 4 years old at this point, and it's not going to be immediately useful since it has a number of dependencies on other code that I can't send you. At best I would say you can study it to see if you're missing any initialization steps, etc.
