Oh, absolutely not! And I didn't intend to claim that; sorry if I gave
the impression of placing all the blame on you.

Yes, all of the present mess is the result of an unexpected backport.
We should try to be more careful with those in the future. Still, I
believe that moving branch-1.11 to maint is a sane and good move. I
will proceed to do so after I've finished the 1.11.3 release process,
unless you (or Jim) strongly objects.
