Sorry, language failure on my part w.r.t. the main meaning of the
verb "to second-guess".

I was using it in the sense of "try to guess/anticipate my intentions,
or to adjust them in case they look wrong, or to silently correct my
possible mistakes -- all without warning me", but I see that the main
meaning of the verb is "to criticize a decision after its outcome is
known".

Oh well, at least I've learned something new today ;-)
