There have been several requests for us to handle yacc and lex more
flexibly.  There are also a couple PRs in this area.  Maybe this is
something worth cleaning up for 1.7?  (Not 1.6, since I'd like to
release that soon.)

What exactly we want to do here, I don't know.  Someone would have to
come up with an actual plan.
