Yes, unfortunately no fix was ever merged due to the further problems
discussed in the thread at
<https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-autoconf/2020-10/msg00012.html>.
If you have time to try to find a solution that handles both of the
problem constructs, that would be very helpful. I just rebased the
'zack/ac-init-quoting' branch on top of latest trunk, so testing with
it will otherwise be equivalent to 2.69d + a few further bugfixes.
