Indeed. A closer look at C89 requires 'long double'. Therefore,
AC_TYPE_LONG_DOUBLE should always succeed.
But AC_C_LONG_DOUBLE should report failure if 'long double' does not
support a larger range than 'double' due to this documentation:
"If the C compiler supports a working long double type with more
range or precision than the double type, define HAVE_LONG_DOUBLE."
Based on the description, it seems that AC_TYPE_LONG_DOUBLE_WIDER is
the new name for AC_C_LONG_DOUBLE but if it is used, then source code
modifications are required.
