detecting libmysqlclient

Hi,

does someone has an example of an application using autoconf to find
libmysqlclient, using zlib and libmystrings if necessary ? Supporting
the use of --with-mysql=<PATH> would be nice too.

I've found PHP, but the code is very difficult to understand, so I would
prefer to find a smaller app.
GNU Cash doesn't use AC_CHECK_LIB to detect mysqlclient.
