Why!! It is overkill to save and restore an existing a.[out|exe]. The
probability is greater that I'll have such a file because of an aborted
configure than I'll have one in the build directory on purpose. Anyone stupid
enough to have an executable named `a' is asking for problems anyway. Just
blow away any a.[out|exe] file in the build directory and be done with it.
