My goal is within the next two weeks; I'd still like to get my initial 
XSI expansion sniffing completed (I don't know if I will get AS_DIRNAME 
portably rewritten to use fewer forks or not, but even being able to 
request shells that support ${a%b} is a good goal for 2.68).  I'm also 
hoping to address Bruno's idea of AC_RUN_IFELSE and friends doing some 
more sanity checking that their program body was provided by AC_LANG_SOURCE.

I probably missed them; can you post a URL to help me get to reviewing 
them faster?  But yeah, they're probably okay, given the fact that we 
need good testing already due to the churn on variable expansion 
assumptions.
