[AUCTeX] locating errors

I expect that when an error occurs, AUCTeX should
(try to) take me to the file and location where the error
occurs.
Somehow, when I execute the "Next Error" command,
I wind up in the file "./Tex LIve 2009/openSUSE", which
is empty. (Yes, I'm running openSUSE).
How do I fix this??
